2007/2008 Concert Series
Twenty-Seventh Season
Throughout the year the Concert Series Committee presents a variety of high quality concerts which are open to the public as well as the members of the church.
These concerts, generally held on Sunday afternoons, are presented to enrich the cultural life of the community. The generosity of Patron contributions and the freewill offerings of concert-goers funds the programs.

BGSU based Kusuma Sari (Inner Flower) is the gamelan gong kebyar orchestra from Bali, Indonesia, housed at the College. Consisting largely of gongs and metallophones, the gamelan performs the dynamic traditional music of Bali as well as modern compositions by American and Balinese composers.

The Magpie Consort is a mixed ensemble of sixteen voices. Most of our music is sung a cappella, but we also perform occasionally with instrumentalists. Our repertoire is extremely diverse, and quite unique including medieval motets and plainsong, renaissance madrigals and sacred polyphony, 18th century psalmody, 20th century compositions from many parts of the world, folk song and world music settings, and original writing for the group by its director Sheena Phillips.
